To keep the Netherlands digitally at the forefront of Europe, companies, consumers and governments need to respond faster and more innovatively to the rapid pace of society and the economy digitalizing. Today, the Cabinet publishes the update of the Dutch digitalisation strategy. In it, the government announces additional funding for artificial intelligence (AI) and provides an overview of other investments in technologies, digitization of business and government, digital skills of the Dutch and cyber security.
The Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC) will receive an initial impulse of 23.5 million euros from the government for research into and development of AI applications. The coalition has developed a Dutch approach to AI and aims for a total public-private investment of two billion euros in seven years.
